FAQs

As we start to get questions, we will list them here. Many times, many people have the same question or a question brings up a subject or issue we haven't addressed yet. We will use the questions to create new pages and sections when a new topic is raised.

We will keep track of your questions here. If they can be answered with a short answer, we will include it here. If it becomes a longer answer, we will direct you to the page with more information.

Q.1

Why are they called "syndromes? Is it because they don't know what causes POTS?

They are often called "syndromes" because there are a number of symptoms, characteristics and findings that are clinically related and they often occur together. The fact that there are many symptoms can make it confusing when a physician is trying to decide what is happening with a patient. In this case, the symptoms do go together and make sense - once you make the connection that they are related to orthostatic problems.
